Effect Experiment of Seed Soaking With 28-Homobrassinolide to Promote Rooting of Corn

Natural brassinolide is a kind of substance that can significantly promote the growth of soybean seedlings which first extracted from rape pollen by Dr. Mirchell et al in 1970, so it is also named brassinolide (BR). It is an endogenous steroid bioactive substance of plants with sterol as the skeleton. It has a strong role in promoting the elongation and cell division of plant stems.

As a new type of steroid plant hormone, brassinolide has the effects of promoting crop growth, increasing crop yield and improving crop resistance, which can significantly promote plant vegetative growth and fertilization. It is internationally recognized as the most efficient, broad-spectrum, non-toxic plant growth regulator with the highest activity. It can give full play to the intrinsic potential of plants, comprehensively regulate and promote plant growth, and give full play to growth advantages. Some of its physiological functions have some characteristics of auxin, gibberellin and cytokinin.

To further demonstrate its effect on crop seed germination and rooting, so we did this soaking test.

Effect Demonstration of 28-homobrassinolide on Promoting corn Rooting

Test time and place: August 9, 2021, Henan Province Crop Chemical Control Engineering Technology Research Center

Crop type: Corn (9953)

Test product: 28-homobrassinolide 0.01%SL

Test method: Corn was seeded with 28-Brassinolide for 6 hours and then sown in germination boxes, 60 plants were sown in each treatment, and the fresh weight of underground parts was measured, and the significance of difference was analyzed.

Test result: 28-homobrassinolide 0.01%SL could significantly increase the fresh weight of underground parts, promote the root elongation of underground parts, and promote the seedling alignment and seedling rejuvenation. 7 days after use, the fresh weight of the underground part of 28-homobrassinolide 0.01%SL treatment was 0.1479g, and that of the control was 0.0722g, and the fresh weight of the underground part increased by 105%.

The activity of brassinolide in different conformations was different in different crops. Representative components include 24-epibrassinolide and 28-homobrassinolide, both of which have broad spectrum and high activity for most of the tested crops. They have been widely verified and applied in the American, European and East Asian markets. Its effect on crop seeds shows that it has a good effect of promoting the elongation of underground roots, and the seedling is healthy and strong, so it has a wide application prospect in rooting and strong seedlings.
