Academician Qian Xuhong’s Team Revisits Zhengshi Chemical’s Hebi Subsidiary
On the morning of April 23, Professor Qian Xuhong—an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, former Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and former President of East China Normal University—led a team of experts to revisit the Hebi subsidiary of Zhengzhou Zhengshi Chemical Products Co., Ltd. for inspection and research. The visit focused on agrochemical technological innovation and industrial upgrading, aiming to deepen industry‑academia‑research integration and jointly chart a new blueprint for cooperative development.

The research team brought together a distinguished group of experts, including Professor Xu Yufang from the School of Pharmacy at East China University of Science and Technology, Vice Dean Shao Xusheng, Professor Li Zhong, Professor Liu Lu from East China Normal University, and Associate Professor Yang Wulin from the School of Pharmacy at East China University of Science and Technology. Professor Zheng Xianfu, Chairman of Zhengshi Chemical, Dr. Xu Weichang, Technical Deputy General Manager, Ding Qunshan, Plant Manager of the Hebi subsidiary, and other corporate leaders accompanied the team throughout the visit and participated in the symposium.

During the symposium, Chairman Zheng Xianfu extended a warm welcome to Academician Qian Xuhong’s team and the attending experts. Li Minglin, Party Secretary of Heshan District, reviewed the development journey of the Heshan District Chemical Industrial Park from its initial establishment to large‑scale development, and emphasized that the district party committee and government would continue to provide strong support and services to help enterprises grow stronger and larger. He also expressed the hope to leverage the cutting‑edge research vision and innovation resources of Academician Qian Xuhong’s team to provide stronger technical support and guidance for the transformation, upgrading, and high‑quality development of the local agricultural chemical industry.
Subsequently, Dr. Xu Weichang, Technical Deputy General Manager, detailed the construction scale, product portfolio, and intelligent management level of the Hebi subsidiary, with a particular focus on the company’s achievements and plans in blockbuster product breakthroughs, patented compound R&D, and the construction of a pesticide‑fertilizer production base. Academician Qian Xuhong’s team spoke highly of Zhengshi Chemical’s performance in industrialization advancement and forward‑looking strategic layout.

During the in-depth exchange session, the two sides engaged in a lively discussion on topics such as the translation of agrochemical scientific achievements into practical applications and key technological breakthroughs. Chairman Zheng Xianfu shared the company’s latest practices in the R&D of novel chemical compounds. Professor Xu Yufang proposed a green nutrition strategy for plant stress resistance activators. Professor Shao Xusheng presented the outcomes of aphid pheromones and repellents, and offered suggestions for optimizing the stability of abscisic acid. Professor Li Zhong recommended the establishment of a long‑term strategic partnership between the two sides to accelerate the industrialization of immune‑inducing resistance technologies. Professor Liu Lu introduced research breakthroughs in plant‑derived pesticides, including plant immune activators, soil rooting molecules, and validamycin.
Speech by experts and professors present
In his concluding remarks, Academician Qian Xuhong shared his cutting‑edge research concept of “exceeding‑limitation manufacturing,” elaborating on the technical pathway of using ultrafast lasers to achieve micro‑ and nano‑scale precision fabrication. Addressing common industry challenges in pesticide formulations—such as safety, environmental compliance, product stability, and standardized production—he proposed innovative solutions incorporating micro‑nanofluidics technology. These insights provide professional guidance for enterprises to break through formulation R&D bottlenecks and enhance core competitiveness, thereby facilitating the upgrading of pesticide formulations toward greener, more efficient, and precisely controllable directions.

Zhengshi Chemical stated that it will take this research visit as an opportunity to continuously strengthen its scientific and technological innovation system, deepen cooperation with top‑tier research institutions, focus on breakthroughs in core pesticide technologies, and build an internationally competitive pesticide brand, contributing “Zhengshi Power” to the high‑quality development of Chinese agriculture.
